The Federal Geospatial Platform (FGP) at Natural Resources Canada (NRCan) has a requirement for the provision of specialized geomatics professional services and business services on an “as and when required” basis to support the identification, standardization, harmonization, quality assessment and delivery of geospatial data products and web mapping services from federal, provincial and territorial geospatial data providers and development of related technical documentation and training materials.

Experience:

One (1) Geomatics Analyst (Data Onboarding and Quality) Level 2

– Minimum of three (3) years of experience (does not including school/thesis work) preparing geospatial data and ancillary products (metadata, web services, product specification documentation) for publication on the Web, using ESRI ArcGIS software.

– Experience restructuring, conditioning or geo-referencing geospatial data from diverse sources and producing georeferenced datasets capable of rendering as a map, via an OGC or ESRI REST web mapping service.

– Minimum of one (1) year experience in processing and working with metadata.  Minimum of one (1) year on the job work experience (not including school/thesis work) working with and creating OGC and/or ESRI REST web mapping services.

– Provide at least two (2) Client references for the proposed resource, which demonstrate the resources’ experience as a Geomatics Analyst.

– Estimated Level of Effort: 250 days until March 2022, 250 days until March 2023.

One (1) Geomatics Analyst (Geospatial Data Training) Level 2

– Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university in the field of Geomatics, Geography, GIS, or have a science degree with additional training in GIS or remote sensing.

– Five (5) years of experience working with geospatial data, including acquisition, processing, management, visualization and/or dissemination.

– Experience preparing geospatial data and ancillary products (metadata, web services, product specification documentation) for publication on the Web, in the forms of Web Map Service and Web Coverage Service (WCS), using ESRI ArcGIS software.

– Experience working with spatial-temporal data, using OGC services.

– Experience in processing or extracting information from remote sensing data.

– Provide at least two (2) Client Project references for the proposed resource, which demonstrate the resources’ experience as a Geomatics Analyst.

– Estimated Level of Effort: 250 days until March 2022, 250 days until March 2023.

One (1) Geomatics Analyst Level 3

– Minimum of three (3) years of experience (does not including school/thesis work) preparing geospatial data and ancillary products (metadata, web services, product specification documentation) for publication on the Web, using ESRI ArcGIS software.

– Experience restructuring, conditioning or geo-referencing geospatial data from diverse sources and producing georeferenced datasets capable of rendering as a map, via an OGC or ESRI REST web mapping service.

– Experience in giving presentations and/or training on GIS/Geomatics/Science related topics to an audience.

– Experience creating presentations and training material.

– Provide at least Two (2) Client Project references for the proposed resource, which demonstrate the resources’ experience as a Geomatics Analyst. 

– Estimated Level of Effort: 250 days until March 2022, 250 days until March 2023.

One (1) Geographic Information System Applications Analyst Level 2

– The proposed resource MUST have a minimum of five (5) years of experience working as a GIS Application Analyst.

– Minimum of three (3) years of experience designing and developing GIS web mapping applications including all forms, manuals, programs, data files and procedures that clearly describe and demonstrate this level of experience.

– Provide at least two (2) Client Project references for the proposed resource, which demonstrate the resources’ experience as a Geomatics Analyst.

– Estimated Level of Effort: 60 days until March 2022, 250 days until March 2023.

One (1) Geographic Information System Data Architect Level 2

– Degree/diploma from a recognized university/college in the field of Geomatics or GIS or have a science related degree with a minor in GIS/Geomatics OR 10 Years of experience as a GIS Data Architect.

– Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in the development of geospatial data processing systems.

– Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in analysis and design of geospatial data processing systems.

– Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in development with FME software and XML and JSON knowledge.

– Minimum of one (1) year experience in programming with Python or similar language.

– Provide at least two (2) Client Project references for the proposed resource, which demonstrate the resources’ experience as a Geomatics Analyst.

Estimated Level of Effort: 250 days until March 2022, 125 days until March 2023.

Two (2) GIS Programmer/Analyst Level 2

– Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in the development of geospatial data processing systems.

– Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in development with FME software.

– Minimum of one (1) year experience in programming with Python or similar language.

– Provide at least two (2) Client Project references for the proposed resource, which demonstrate the resources’ experience as a Geomatics Analyst.
